WHAT HAPPENS AFTER APPLICATION?
The green layer you see on day one is the seed and mulch application. Growth follows when the conditions are right.
Maintain the moisture needed for germination and avoid unnecessary foot traffic. Water gently so the seedbed is not disturbed.
Young shoots need consistent care. Adjust watering to weather and soil conditions, following the plan for your seed mix.
Begin mowing or habitat management when the vegetation is ready. Grass and wildflower mixes need different long-term care.

The mixture spreads seed across a prepared surface, while the mulch helps hold moisture around it. The seed then needs suitable growing conditions and aftercare to develop into vegetation.
There is no single price that fits every site. Area, ground preparation, gradient, seed and mulch specification, access, water availability and location all affect the quotation. Send us an approximate area and site photographs so we can discuss a realistic specification and price.
It depends on the job. Hydroseeding can make larger or sloping areas practical to seed and allows a mix suited to your site. Turf gives an immediate green surface but still needs establishment and watering. Dry seeding can suit straightforward, accessible ground. We can help you weigh up the options.
Some grass mixes can begin germinating in around one to two weeks in favourable conditions. A usable lawn or well-established cover takes longer. Seed species, soil temperature, moisture, preparation and season all matter; wildflower mixes follow a different establishment pattern. We will discuss expectations for your site.
Spring and early autumn often offer useful conditions for grass establishment, with warmer soil and available moisture. The right timing depends on the seed mix, local weather, site conditions and watering provision. We assess the programme with you rather than promising the same result in every season.
Yes, hydroseeding can help establish surface vegetation on suitably prepared slopes and compatible retaining wall faces, including ECO-MSE® systems. Steep ground, concentrated water flow or unstable slopes may need additional erosion protection or an engineered retaining solution. Hydroseeding does not replace structural stabilisation.
Grass, wildflower and native species mixes can be considered to suit the ground, intended appearance and maintenance plan. For habitat-led projects, the seed specification should follow the project’s ecological advice. Establishing a habitat requires suitable management as well as the right seed.
The seedbed needs suitable soil, contact for the seed, and attention to weeds, compaction and drainage. After application, maintain appropriate moisture, avoid unnecessary traffic and follow the agreed mowing or vegetation management plan. Preparation and aftercare responsibilities should be agreed before work starts.
